When You're Tired of Wearing Your Brace Already

There is a moment during the first month when many teens realize something.

The brace has become part of everyday life.

You wake up with it.

You go through your day with it.

You plan around it.

You think about it.

And sometimes you simply feel tired of it.

That doesn't mean you're failing.

It doesn't mean you're ungrateful.

It doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong.

It means you're human.

The good news is that feeling tired of something and being committed to it are two different things.

In fact, many successful brace wearers have days when they are completely over it.

They still keep going.

One thing that helps is remembering how much you've already accomplished.

A few weeks ago, everything felt brand new.

Now you've built routines.

You've gained experience.

You've learned things that once seemed impossible.

You've already done more than you probably realize.

When you're feeling tired, try focusing on what is going well.

Maybe you're getting dressed faster.

Maybe you're thinking about the brace less often.

Maybe you're feeling more comfortable than you did during the first week.

Progress is happening, even when it doesn't always feel dramatic.

The first month isn't about loving every part of bracing.

It's about learning that you can keep moving forward.

And every day you do that, you're building confidence that will help you throughout the rest of your journey.
