Why Progress Feels Slow at First
One of the most encouraging things about bracing is that progress is happening even when you can't always see it.
The challenge is that most progress during the first month is invisible.
You don't wake up one morning completely adjusted.
You don't suddenly become an expert brace wearer overnight.
Instead, progress happens in small pieces.
A little more comfort.
A little more confidence.
A little more experience.
Those small improvements can be easy to miss.
Many teens focus on what still feels difficult.
Meanwhile, they overlook everything that has improved.
Think about your first week.
There are probably things that feel easier now than they did then.
You may not have noticed those changes happening.
That's because growth often feels slow while it's occurring.
The important thing is that slow progress is still progress.
In fact, most meaningful progress happens slowly.
The routines you're building.
The habits you're creating.
The confidence you're developing.
All of those things take time.
The first month is not about reaching perfection.
It's about building momentum.
And every day you stick with your brace, that momentum grows.
Even if you can't always see it.
One day you'll look back and realize just how far you've come.
And you'll probably be surprised by how much progress was happening all along.
